South Africa arrived for the 2020 Paralympics with one of the smallest participants ever
South Africa competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan, from 24 August to 5 September 2021. The team of 34 athletes competing in seven sports was announced on 14 August 2021, the chef de mission was Leon Fleiser. This was the smallest delegation since the 1992 Summer Paralympics.

Results from South Africa
In total now there were 7 overall medals that came from South Africa during this paralympics, 4 golds with two record breaking finishes from our performers as well as 1 silver and 2 bronzes. in overall however our team were very pleased and happy with all the results, taking into consideration they were in a totally new environment and had to also abide to the covid laws and regulations. A lot of of players are at a very young age as well, so through this they could develop and grow themselves into some of the best athletes #SouthAfrica has ever seen. #welldoneSA #Keeponfighting.
